A Menlo Park man is in jail after he left flowers, love notes and containers full of his urine for a 14-year-old girl he was stalking, a prosecutor said yesterday.

Israel Mora, 42, has been leaving the girl such “gifts” over the past month, said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Mora plays basketball near the girl’s home in east Menlo Park, Wagstaffe said. Beginning on Nov. 12, Mora allegedly began leaving the girl the items on her doorstep. The first gift was yellow roses, the second pink roses and the third flowers in a cup telling the girl he found her attractive, Wagstaffe said.

On Dec. 8, Mora left the girl flowers and a coke bottle with his urine in it, Wagstaffe said. On Dec. 10, Mora left her flowers in a vase with his urine, which he believes “sparkles like diamonds,” according to authorities.

The girl and her family were so scared of Mora that they lived in a hotel for a few days and had police watch their home, Wagstaffe said. The family has security camera footage of Mora leaving the girl the items, Wagstaffe said.

Mora was charged with felony contact with a minor for the purpose of seduction and felony stalking, Wagstaffe said. Mora is also charged with four counts of misdemeanor child annoyance or molestation. If found guilty of all six charges, he could get up to eight years in prison and be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Mora will be in court on Dec. 20, and is in jail on $100,000 bail. He was previously convicted of carrying a dirk or dagger while on probation in 2012 and possession of meth with intent to sell it in 2009, Wagstaffe said.
