A woman whose body was found outside the Showplace Icon movie theater, 2575 California St. in Mountain View, died as the result of a suicide, said the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner Office.

Tamar Haki, 50, of Mountain View, died sometime before about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday from multiple blunt force injuries and from an “unwitnessed descent from a height,” the medical examiner’s office reported.

A jogger found the woman in the driveway near the front doors of the theater, police said.

Police spokeswoman Katie Nelson on Thursday told police that the incident is being treated only as a death and that there were no other details she could share.

  1. She had blunt force trauma and fell from a balcony and they’re calling that suicide?? I think that’s a bit premature it even says nobody saw her fall so how do they know she fell and wasn’t pushed by the person giving her blunt force injuries?

  2. Because if you call it a suicide, you don’t have to go through a serious investigation to see if it is really a homicide. Typical Mountain View police work.

  3. To the first 2 comments…Nowhere was it stated in this article that it was suicide.
To be accusatory & derogatory is wrong, especially when one the one accusing is wrong. It clearly states
“ being treated as a death. “ suicide was not mentioned in article.
Following the article “yes” there is an important reminder in regard to suicide, that there is help. Many billboards also remind community. Jumping to wrong negative conclusions drmonstrates incompetence.
