Man arrested after police find 250 ecstasy pills and a gun in his car

A man was arrested in Belmont after it was discovered that he had $9,800 worth of ecstasy pills in his car, police said.

Victor Pabalate, 24, of Hayward, was pulled over on Thursday (Nov. 8) around 11:50 p.m. after a traffic violation, according to Capt. Pat Halleran.

Police discovered that Pabalate had an outstanding warrant and was arrested. During a search of Pabalate’s car, officers found over 250 ecstasy pills, estimated to cost about $9,800, about $1,100 in cash, and a gun, said Halleran.

Pabalate was booked into jail for suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and an outstanding warrant. He is in jail in lieu of $25,000 and is expected to be in court on Wednesday (Nov. 14).
