Three men broke into a home in Los Altos Hills, ransacked the place and assaulted an 83-year-old woman who was alone there, Santa Clara County sheriff’s officials said yesterday.
The home invasion was reported around 11:10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 23) on the 27000 block of Altamont Road, about a mile east of Foothills Park.
One burglar was described as a Latino man in his 20s, and the other two were wearing full masks, Sgt. Rich Glennon said.
The woman was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The sheriff’s major crimes unit is investigating the attack. Anyone with information about it has been asked to call the sheriff’s office at (408) 808-4500 or its anonymous tip line at (408) 808-4431.
