Arnav Singh, a 20-year-old Gunn High School graduate, has been found dead in San Jose, police announced today (May 11).

Singh had taken a gap year off after graduating from Gunn and planned to enter San Jose State this fall, according to Indicanews.com, which first reported about his death.

Singh was reported missing by his parents on May 5. They told police they dropped him off at the San Jose State University library at 4th and E. San Fernando St.

When Singh didn’t return that evening, his parents contacted police to say he was missing.

On May 8, police went to a location in the 700 block of Phelan Avenue and found Singh’s body, police said. The body was recovered by a search-and-rescue team and firefighters. The 700 block of Phelan Ave is located near the SJSU campus and the Spartan Village (formerly Campus Village Phase 3) area.

“The preliminary investigation revealed no obvious signs of injury or foul play,” police said.

No arrests have been reported.

  1. Totally not suspicious that he was found basically around the Jungle. My money is on he either died from a fent overdose(meaning the dealers are back) or got jumped by Jungle bums(meaning bums are now attacking anyone). Citizens need to watch their back for violent illegals and homeless. The cops won’t help you; the Mayor doesn’t care; and no one will come to save you. We do not have to tolerate this crap, and all your morals and grandstanding mean nothing when people are being killed.

  2. My hearfelt condolences to the parents and family . Its extremely haeartbreaking . May god give you all strenth to bear the deep loss. my his soul rest in eternal peace

  3. There should be some investigation into this to find out the cause of death. Very sorry to hear this . RIP.

  4. It’s unfortunate, but common. I live downtown on third street and nothing good comes from the activities that happen in front of the library on 4th and San Fernando.

They literally deal fentanyl in front to that place.

    It’s a pandemic.

Where he was found is also not a good place, a lot of transient activity, drug use and industrial buildings, go down a few more blocks on tenth before Tully is the row of motorhomes.
