It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Edward E. Rousar, III, of Mountain View. He died of a Heart Attack/ Aneurysm. Ed was born in Washington, DC, and he grew up in Oklahoma. He is survived by his partner of 11.5 years, Johnie Kelly, and his brother Kenn Rousar (Carol), nephews Mark Rousar (Erin) (Gideon, Elias , Malachi), Matthew Rousar (Becca) (Ezra, CeCe) and niece Amanda Tabor (Nathan) (Layla, Violet, Landon) of Illinois. His parents Edward E. Rousar, II and Margaret Rousar predeceased him.
Ed was a double doc with PhDs in Philosophy (U Oklahoma) and Psychology (Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto). He had a private Clinical Psychology practice in the area. He was much loved by his friends, local community and neighbors.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ed found solace in his beautifully designed garden. It showcases a vibrant array of flowers, fruit trees, vegetable, bird feeders, and nesting birds. He actively engaged with various LGBT+ groups, participating in both an LGBT+ runners group and an LGBT+ therapists group. Music also held a special place in Ed’s heart, as he played the violin, and regularly attended symphonies and chamber music performances. He eagerly engaged in discussions about the finer aspects of these musical events. He will be remembered for his keen wit, his kindness, and his generosity of spirit in helping others.
There will be a public memorial on September 23, 2023 at the Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave. at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please bring food that is easy to share (like finger food). Make any donations to organizations you choose that would be an honor to Ed.
