One ore more arsonists set fire to a wooden dumpster and three trash cans on two different days at two separate locations in Los Altos.

No suspects have been arrested.

The arsonists first set fire to three trash cans sometime between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday in the 200 block of Covington Road, said police spokesman Sgt. Brian Jeffrey. The trash cans were the only things damaged, Jeffrey said.

Arsonists then set fire to a wooden dumpster that damaged a nearby canopy between 7 p.m. and 7:23 p.m. on Thursday in the 700 block of Berry Ave., Jeffrey said.

Both the police department and the Santa Clara County Arson Investigator are investigating the fires, Jeffrey said.

Jeffrey did not respond to an inquiry asking whether the incidents were related.
