A man claiming to have a gun robbed the 7-Eleven at 708 Colorado Ave. in Palo Alto’s Midtown neighborhood.
At 10:40 p.m. Saturday, the man came to the counter with an alcoholic beverage, “reached into his jacket, claimed to have a gun, and demanded money and a mobile phone the clerk was holding,” police said.
The clerk complied and the man fled on foot eastbound on Colorado Avenue, in the direction of Highway 101.
The clerk, who was uninjured, described the man as being at least 30, wearing a black beanie and a black mask with a Raiders logo on the left cheek, as well as a dark jacket and blue jeans.
Police are circulating surveillance photos of the robber and ask anyone with information to call them at (650) 329-2413.

Police said there is not believed to be any connection with a robbery at the same store on Aug. 7.
“Two suspects in that case have been arrested by another law enforcement agency as part of a broader investigation involving a robbery series in multiple jurisdictions,” the department said.
This is getting so boring. The Midtown 7-11 has been hit repeatedly. Seems like some additional measures would be in order to stop this.
What’s in your wallet? Is this the only time a mask protects you and a robber from getting Covid 19? No gurantees. The cheap way to avoid covid 19 is stay away from people. Be a hermit but you might want to rob a 7/11 while your at it. Operation lockdown is in full effect but the flipside is so is criminology. Politicians with their hasty rhetoric all leads up to the one guy who caused it all. President Trump. For months he didn’t wear a ski mask but he got covid 19. Some other politician like Gavin Newsome said I can do like the Trump man. Do as I say not as I do. Nothing new about hypocrisy but just to make it interesting someone will rob a 7/11 while we watch the soap opera called, Operation Lockdown. What’s in your wallet?
Another reason masks should not be worn in public, easier to evade crime. Law enforcement needs to speak out against this.
