Two men, each with a handgun, robbed the Midtown 7-Eleven store on Colorado Avenue in Palo Alto last night, getting away with cash and cigarettes, police said.

At 11:13 p.m., police got a call from the clerk who said the store had been robbed five minutes earlier. Police rushed to the store but couldn’t find the robbers.

The men entered the store, pointed handguns at the clerk and forced him to open the cash register, police said. The suspects took cash from the register and stole several packs of cigarettes, and then fled in a dark-colored SUV eastbound on Colorado Avenue. A second employee was in the store at the time but no customers.

The employees said the robbers were white or Hispanic men between 20 and 25 years old. Both were wearing face coverings, black jackets and jeans. One carried a silver handgun and the other robber’s gun was black.

The last time this particular 7-Eleven was robbed was in April 2019.

Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery call them at (650) 329-2413.

  1. Good luck identifying suspects wearing masks…another unintended consequence of the mask mandates, along with sex trafficking, kidnapping, and the crime wave sweeping the country.
