Docktown plaintiff loses court appeal but may keep fighting to save what’s left of floating community

Appeals Court decision in Alison Madden v. City of Redwood City

Despite a setback in the state Court of Appeal last week, the battle over Redwood City’s efforts to remove houseboats from Docktown Marina is far from over, the plaintiff in the case said.

Docktown resident Alison Madden said she is “highly likely” to take the case to the state Supreme Court. The lawsuit argued that the city of Redwood City does not have authority to move Docktown residents.
