Dec. 2, 2:10 p.m. Wednesday — The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was found dead on Skyline Boulevard last night.
Eddy Cervantes, 40, of East Palo Alto was found dead on Skyline near Quail Court around 5 p.m.
The sheriff’s office has not disclosed how Cervantes died, other than saying that he had been dead for “quite some time” and because of the “specific nature” of how Cervantes died, they were treating the case as a homicide.
Skyline Boulevard between Quail Court and Highway 92 was closed until about 3:30 p.m. today.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking with information about the case to call Detective Chris Serrano at 650-363-4066.
Dec. 2, 12:10 a.m. Wednesday — Investigators are treating the discovery of a body found Tuesday (Dec. 1) near Skyline Boulevard and Quail Court as a homicide, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
The office was notified about 5 p.m. about the body on the side of Skyline Boulevard, also known as Highway 85, in an elevated and somewhat isolated area near Burleigh Murray Ranch State Park.
Medics determined that the man been dead “for quite some time,” said Detective Rosemerry Blankswade. “Due to the specific nature of how he was found, our investigators are treating it like a homicide.”
Skyline Boulevard is expected to remain closed between Quail Court and state Highway 92 until at least noon on Wednesday, officials said.
