A sharp-eyed neighbor helped Los Altos police catch two suspected home burglars, authorities said.

The neighbor saw two people exiting a home on the 500 block of Lassen Street at 4:54 a.m. on July 16.

The neighbor called police with the description of the vehicle the two were using — a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe. Police caught up to the Tahoe a short time later and pulled them over at the intersection of Foothill Expressway and Magdalena Avenue.

The pair had stolen items from three home burglaries in Los Altos and from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, police said.

Arrested were Jose Mora-Villalobos, 33, and Rosa Arellano, 29, both of San Jose.

Police also said the pair had what are described as burglary tools and drugs.

Mora-Villalobos and Arellano were booked into county jail on suspicion of committing burglary, possession of drugs and burglary tools.
