The city of Palo Alto will begin construction in October on a $41.3 million, 636-car parking garage at 350 Sherman Ave. to serve the California Avenue district.
The environmental report and zoning changes were approved by City Council tonight (June 11) in a unanimous vote.
Completion is set for February 2020. It will replace a parking lot.
Construction of the $92.2 million police station next door at 250 Sherman will start immediately after the garage is done and will be completed by fall 2021.
The police station will have a 135 foot radio tower on top of it.
