Four women stole about $10,000 worth of mer- chandise from the Lululemon store in Burlingame, police said yesterday (Aug. 31).

The thieves entered the women’s fitness wear store at 1304 Burlingame Ave. shortly before 2:45 p.m. Thursday and walked around the store grabbing cloth- ing off the shelves before leaving, said Lt. Jay Kiely.

The four women drove off in a maroon sedan after the theft, Kiely said. The store was going through its inventory to see what was taken, he added.

Kiely said the women may be tied to other Lululemon thefts this week in the East Bay.

This is not the first time the shop in Burlingame has been targeted. Last June a woman stole about $3,000 worth of apparel from the store. In 2015, there were at least 11 major thefts from the store, resulting in the loss of about $30,000 worth of merchandise.

The Burlingame Lululemon is not the only one thieves target on the Peninsula. The Palo Alto shop at 432 University Ave. was hit a handful of times last year. After a string of thefts in 2015, the Palo Alto store hired a security guard.
