I got up to go to my exercise class, a boot camp style affaire at the old Stanford stadium. As I turned onto Alma from my house, NPR was saying something about the Twin Towers being hit. I could literally not understand the words Bob Edwards was speaking until I got much closer to campus. Working out that day with no airplanes overhead was incredibly eerie and heart breaking. You could feel the tragedy hanging heavy in the air.
