An 83-year-old Palo Alto resident has died after being hit by a car in the Walmart parking lot in Mountain View, police said.
The woman was walking in the parking lot on Saturday (Aug. 23) at 3:25 p.m. when she was struck, police said in an unsigned statement.
She was conscious when firefighters arrived to take her to the hospital, but she died on Monday, police said.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police say drugs and alcohol likely aren’t a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner said on Thursday that Nagano died from blunt force injuries to the head, and the death was an accident.
