Robotics teacher loses suit against school district

A jury has found that the Palo Alto Unified School District is not liable in the lawsuit brought by former robotics teacher Kathy Krier, according to an announcement from the district.

Krier claimed students destroyed her gay pride flag and vandalized her car, and parents resisted her attempts to diversify the team.

In her suit, she alleged she was the victim discrimination, a hostile work environment and felt she had no choice but to quit. Her claims go back to the 2018 school year, when she was hired to work at Palo Alto High School.

The trial was held in Santa Clara County Superior Court in San Jose.

  1. 18 different jobs in 11 years? $700 per month in marijuana use? Perhaps the district ought to do a more thorough job in vetting job applicants.

    • They vetted her. You fail to understand that she’s exactly the type of teacher the school district wants to hire. It’s only when parents and students complain enough that the district and board might then respond.

The district is highly rated only because of the parents and students, in spite of the administration and teachers. You can replace every Palo Alto teacher and administrator with the admins and teachers from the absolute worst rated school district in the country and nothing would change. Palo Alto would still be highly rated.

I would go further and argue that parents who are still sending their children to public school are aiding and abetting in child abuse. Homeschooling is the only way. Most private schools are just as bad.

  2. Her gay pride flag has no business anywhere near a robotics classroom. Keep all that stuff away from your job. Show up, teach what you are supposed to teach and go home. Enough with all the politics in schools.
