In terms of the race for San Mateo County Superior Court Judge, vote for Brian Donnellan.
Donnellan has spent his entire adult life serving the residents of San Mateo County in some manner.
He understands that people who live on the coastside face different issues than those who live in Menlo Park. That’s important for a judge who will be dealing with the ins and outs of jury selection, family disputes and calendaring hearings. Donnellan appears ready to take whatever duties the job throws at him. He also has broad support in the legal community, not just from his colleagues in the District Attorney’s Office, defense attorneys have supported him as well, which indicates to us they think he will be a fair jurist.
It’s telling that his opponent, Santa Clara County Chief Deputy DA Jay Boyarsky, has tried multiple ways to become a judge in Santa Clara County, but hasn’t been able to get the job. Now he’s trying to get elected in San Mateo County, which smells like someone who just wants the title. Donnellan convinced us that he’s not seeking the seat as a resume builder, but to serve the people of San Mateo County.
I would like to take this opportunity to join the hundreds of individuals and organizations who have publicly endorsed Brian Donnellan for San Mateo County Superior Court Judge. I am a retired San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant and have known Brian for his entire career with the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office As a Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau Supervisor, I worked hand in hand with Brian on many criminal cases, the bulk of which were violent felonies. Brian is a tenacious prosecutor committed to the rights and dignity of victims and the accountability of defendants within the law. Brian has a stellar reputation with regard to his knowledge of the law as well as his efficient trial preparation tactics and professional courtroom demeanor. Since 1983, Brian has lived in San Mateo County and served its residents as a Deputy District Attorney for some 20 years. As a lifelong resident with a 33 year career as a law enforcement officer in San Mateo County myself, I know the value of being connected with the communities we serve. Brian’s qualifications speak for themselves when you take notice that every Superior Court Judge in San Mateo County, every Deputy District Attorney in San Mateo County and every member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors have endorsed him. Brian has the education, aptitude, experience and is supremely qualified to fill the role as a Superior Court Judge. I am thrilled to stand with many of my colleagues to support Brian Donnellan as the best qualified candidate to be elected to the position of San Mateo County Superior Court Judge.
