VIDEO — Corpus speaks after end of removal hearing

San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus addressed the crowd after a hearing that may result in her removal from office ended.

After her statement, her supporter RJ Jennings, who yesterday on the witness stand called the removal process a “modern-day lynching,” and her attorney, former DNC chair Tom Perez spoke before she took a few questions from reporters.

  1. What a joke! She doesn’t take any responsibility, everyone is lying and out to get her and the County didn’t prove their case. What delusional world is she living in? Just wait folks…the party is far from over. Sure, Judge Emerson will recommend removal, the BOS will vote UNANIMOUSLY to remove her, but she ain’t leaving. I hope the BOS, Wagstaffe, and the County Executive have a plan…restraining order, forcibly removing her from the building, etc. It will be a circus, because she’s crazy and now believes a “higher power” has placed her as the sheriff. Her and the Elf are not about to go quietly into the night!

  2. Who said the county didn’t prove their case against Corpus? Did Corpus just give her own verdict based on her own opinion? No ruling has come out – is this further defamation potentially of victims? Not a smart choice to run out of court and go to the news with your own emotional outburst to the public.

10 days of testimony, emails, texts, documents, videos were presented. When there is a verdict, then go public. Until then keep your opinions under wraps – this is hearsay and further violation of peoples rights. Are there CA employment laws to protect people that were wrongfully terminated, fired, retaliated against, arrested – can your employer speak about their personal records publicly – or does this put the county at more legal risk to the victims.

Imagine what would happen if the county ran out of court saying Corpus is going down, her case was weak and she didn’t prove any innocence. More hearsay, more false statements – more gaslighting the public. Twisted unprofessional and wrong. Discussing this case and employment records is so so wrong. Add this to her naughty list of wrongdoings. She doesn’t care about doing things the right way.

  3. Corpus is crying (again) “poor me, poor me.” Her post-hearing press conference is useless. The residents of San Mateo County voted and gave the BOS the authority to remove her. Who was this press conference intended for? The decision now rests with the esteemed Judge Emerson. His decision/recommendation will be based on what he heard in the courtroom, not on the steps of the Hall of Justice.

  4. OMG Christina (I refuse to call you Sheriff) as a peer/supervisor observing you after a mediocre career as a deputy sheriff, kudos as you did a great job serving the community policing and CARON. You climbed your ranks and somehow managed to become a captain and ran against the incumbent Sheriff and won on a “SHERIFF YOU CAN TRUST” platform promising transparency which is nothing more than a buzz word these days. That said, there is nothing you can trust, especially your words that are obvious lies in many cases refuted by many respected employees infected by your ineffective management left at the hands of your henchman who has no clue about law enforcement leadership let alone law enforcement basics. It saddened me to see your tearful performance today however think your tears would have been best spent on your regret on the havoc and destruction that you have caused this office that so many of us have cherished for years!

  5. The people and politicians of San Mateo County should reflect on what THEY caused by electing the “Sheriff” that checked all the boxes, rather than electing someone of character and competence.
Corpus was and is unfit to serve as Sheriff. The very politicians screaming for her removal are the ones who said she was the perfect candidate to serve when she was a candidate.
Corpus showed herself to be an incompetent fool as “Chief” of Millbrae. The former Sheriff that promoted her became the focus of her campaign as someone who was inept and corrupt. That should have been a warning sign that no one chose to examine.

    • Thanks Hawkeye for your insightful analysis. Here’s a novel idea. How about scheduling a special election to replace the delusional Sheriff thereby bypassing the woke politicians that brought her to power and allowing San Mateo county voters the ability to elect a competent, experienced law enforcement official with values, integrity and character.
