Vice President JD Vance is expected to be in Atherton tonight (May 16) for a private fundraising dinner at the home of venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya.
Palihapitiya is a former Facebook executive and the host of the All-In podcast, which supported President Trump in last year’s election. The co-host of tonight’s dinner is David Sacks, a VC who hosted a fundraiser for Trump at his home in Pacific Heights last spring.
NBC Bay Area first reported Vance’s visit. But it wasn’t immediately clear whether the fundraiser is for Vance’s expected presidential campaign in 2028, for the mid-term House and Senate races next year, or something else.
