Somebody programmed hundreds of thousands of bots to visit the Daily Post’s webpage, padailypost.com, early this morning in an attack that appears to be designed to bring down our online presence.
Our webhosting company suspended padailypost.com because it was concerned that the overwhelming number of bot hits would bring down other websites it hosts.
The Post made some software changes to prevent such an attack in the future and padailypost.com is operating once again.
An investigation is underway to determine who was responsible for this attack.
It’s wise to protect yourself from further threat. The web is a double-edge sword. I hope you determine who was responsible.
