Repeter Consignment Offers Latest Fashions Secondhand in Menlo Park

Repeter Consignment

The stylish consignment shop Repeter has a new location in downtown Menlo Park where you can enjoy the latest fashions at affordable prices.

Owner Millie Talledo, who also owns Repeter’s first store in downtown Los Altos, said she looks forward to meeting new customers and consignors at the shop at 1142 Chestnut Lane.

“I want to welcome everyone in my new community,” she said.

Repeter specializes in trendy, high-end fashion, offering gently used women’s clothing, shoes and accessories in clean and meticulous condition. The store’s curated collection is set up like an upscale boutique, with beautiful displays and easy browsing. Talledo says the store only offers what is currently in style; it’s not a place to scout vintage finds. She says her regular customers know that she carefully screens all incoming items, making sure nothing is in any way stained, damaged or smelly.

“When you come to my business as a buyer, first of all, you will find trendy fashion of good quality at a quarter of the price of regular retail,” she said.

And, she added, when you regularly buy secondhand, you not only refresh your wardrobe, but you also help reduce the ecological footprint of the fashion industry.

Talledo first took over Repeter in Los Altos in 2017 after 12 years of operating clothing stores in that city. She said she gained a lot of experience with fabrics while running The Bay Alpaca, which specialized in high-end garments made from alpaca wool that were imported from Peru.

For  consignment, their standard policy is that consignors receive 40% of the sale. For high-end bags and accessories from the best designers – including Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, Gucci and Prada – they will pay 50 to 60%. The shop is currently seeking winter and holiday items. They also take athleisure and workout items from brands including Lululemon, Athleta, Alo, Peloton, Nike and Adidas. Their consignment period is three months.

With the exception of the workout clothes, Talledo says she prioritizes natural fabrics and tries to avoid carrying items in synthetic ones.

“You can feel the difference in the fibers,” she said. “Soft wools, soft fibers – with natural fabrics, everything feels soft on the body.”
