A Palo Alto man who invited a woman he met online to his house early this morning (April 7) was robbed at gunpoint by the woman’s accomplice, according to police.
The gunman took a laptop, several thousand dollars in cash and probably the victim’s pride.
At 1:30 a.m., police received a call from the victim, a man in his 30s, who reported he had just been robbed in his home in the 700 block of Sutter Avenue in Palo Alto’s Midtown neighborhood.
He told police that he met a woman online and had invited her to his home. She arrived at about 1 a.m. Shortly after her arrival, he heard a knock at the front door. He opened the door and a man with a silver handgun entered the residence.
The gunman took the money and laptop, then left with the woman.
Police believe the two were working in concert.
The victim didn’t see the vehicle or vehicles driven by the man and woman.
