Palo Alto City Council is interested in putting housing on one of its downtown parking lots. Already, Burlingame has successfully embarked on a project like this, Councilman Michael Brownrigg said in an interview yesterday.

He said Burlingame council members realized they weren’t getting the most value out of having surface parking lots in downtown, so they asked the private sector to come up with ideas for the land. …

  1. This is an idea that’s long overdue. People have been talking about doing this for years, but the city just drags its feet. Pathetic!
