On March 10 and 11, 2020, we published an article referencing Ayden Hector. The headline of the article may have created an impression that Hector was accused of or suspected of rape, which, as the article described, is not the case. The article incorrectly stated that the victim was 15 years old, when in fact she was 16, at the time of the incident, and that the victim advised the investigators that a video of the incident was made, when actually the investigators learned about the video from the individual who reported the incident. The Post regrets these inaccuracies and any implication regarding Hector’s role. Since publication, we have been provided with additional information that was not otherwise available, confirming what was reported in the article, that Hector’s status was that of a witness and that he is not a suspect nor has been accused of any sexual misconduct.
