San Mateo County deputy sheriffs have arrested a 34-year-old man accused of jumping through the window of an enclosed food stand in the Home Depot parking lot in San Carlos and taking the attendant’s purse and cellphone.
The arrested man, Dan Navalopez of San Francisco, was the victim’s ex-boyfriend, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies were dispatched to the store at 5:35 p.m. Saturday on a report of a strong-arm robbery involving Navalopez and a woman in her 30s. Deputies arrived and immediately detained Navalopez. He was identified by the victim, deputies said.
The victim wasn’t injured and all of her property was returned to her.
Navalopez was booked into jail for two felonies, robbery and commercial burglary, and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.
