Man arrested on suspicion of manufacturing illegal weapons

Belmont police yesterday seized six firearms from a man whom they arrested for the manufacturing of illegal weapons, according to authorities.

Belmont police and agents from the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant at around 5:30 a.m. at a home on the 300 block of Chesterton Avenue.

Officers found several illegal assault rifles and firearm parts, according to Capt. Pat Halleran. Dylan Zugar, 27, of Belmont, was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, including possession of illegal firearms and the manufacturing of illegal weapons, according to police.

All of the weapons and parts were seized, and Zugar was taken to jail in Redwood City.
