Woman killed on El Camino in Mountain View

A woman was killed Saturday night (April 13) after she was struck by a vehicle on El Camino Real, according to Mountain View police.

The collision was reported about 8:20 p.m. on El Camino at Palo Alto Avenue, two blocks northwest of Shoreline Boulevard, said police spokeswoman Katie Nelson.

There is no marked crosswalk at that location.

The female pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver, also a woman, is cooperating with investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the collision, Nelson said.

Westbound El Camino Real was closed at South Shoreline Boulevard until early this morning (April 14).

  1. Now now children. Someone is dead and we know NOTHING yet. Lets worry about foreigners protesting that AN “AMERICAN” POLICE FORCE IN LAUGUNA SHOULDNT HAVE THE AMERICAN FLAG ON THEIR CARS! IT MIGHT MAKE THEM UNCOMFORTABLE OR (MY FAVORITE STUPID COMMENT) THE FLAG IS RACIST! HOW MANY AMERICANS HAVE TIED FOR THIS FREEDOM AND THESE PEOPLE FROM COUNTRIES THEY HAVE ABANDONED TELL US WHAT TO DO!!!! SERIOUSLY???? GO HOME IF YOU’RE SO “UNCOMFORTABLE”. THESE POLICE ARE RISKING THEIR LIVES FOR YOU. AND SO CALLED AMERICANS WHO ARE SO “POLITICALLY CORRECT”…GO WITH THEM. IM SICK OF WHAT CALIFORNIA HAS TURNED INTO. THIS IS TRULY THE MOST STUPID COMMENT THERE HAS EVER BEEN.

  2. Jason; instead of getting so irate about California and more, which is actually bad for your health, you may consider leaving this state. There should be 49 others to choose from, plus some overseas territories. I hear U-Haul has great one-way rates. Goodbye and good luck.
