Palo Alto Pokice are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman who was walking on El Camino Real at 3:30 this morning (Dec. 29).
The attack was interrupted by the victim’s boyfriend and the suspect ran away. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.
An officer on patrol was flagged down on El Camino Real near Grant Avenue by a man who reported his girlfriend had just been assaulted in the 2500 block of El Camino Real.
A woman in her 30s had been unloading items out of her vehicle to give to her friend. As she walked on El Camino Real to meet her friend at an apartment complex, she felt someone grab her buttocks. The victim turned and saw an unknown male who then pushed her to the ground on her back.
The suspect straddled her, started touching her genitals over her clothing, and threatened her if she screamed, police said.
The victim screamed and yelled help, which alerted the victim’s boyfriend who came outside and saw the attack.
The assailant ran away southbound on El Camino Real.
The victim’s boyfriend chased the suspect and saw that he got into a vehicle and drove away eastbound on Grant Avenue.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
The victim described the suspect as Hispanic, between 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-11 with a muscular build, weighing around 180 pounds. He had dark hair and eyes and facial hair.
The suspect’s vehicle is a red, four-door, 90s model Toyota Corolla.
