A man’s attempt to rob a Palo Alto home Sunday was foiled when he stopped to drink wine at the kitchen table, police say.
Palo Alto police arrested Sabina Blanco, 31, of San Francisco, for breaking into a house on the 2600 block of Bryant Street. Shortly after noon, the house’s resident returned home to find his belongings rummaged-through and Blanco drinking a bottle of his wine, according to police. The resident, who police say is in his 70s, told Blanco to leave and he obliged.
Officers arrived at the home after the suspect had left but found him while searching the neighborhood.
Blanco was booked for residential burglary, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor battery on a police officer, which he picked up for spitting on an officer, police say. He’s being held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

If I had to go to prison for a glass of wine, I’d hope that it was something better than Two Buck Chuck.
