Monday, 4 p.m. — The Utilities Department has restored power to the 4,500 customers who lost their electricity this morning. The department says the outage may be storm related. Most customers had their power back by 11 a.m., while some had to wait until 1 p.m.
Monday, 7:22 a.m. — Palo Alto residents in the Barron Park and Maybell neighborhoods woke up this rainy morning to discover their power was out. If they had switched to all-electric, it’s likely they had a cold shower.
The power went out at 5:30 a.m. and the estimated time of restoration is 10:30 a.m. The utility department outage map showed 3,500 customers were without power at 7:50 a.m.
The cause of the outage is unknown.
Police are asking people to not call 911 or the non-emergency numbers of the police or fire department to report the outage or ask questions about it.
