San Mateo County Sheriff is warning residents to be alert following a string of robberies at homes in San Carlos, Atherton and Redwood City.
Three men attempted to break into a residence on Los Vientos Way in San Carlos on Friday at 9:08 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. The homeowners successfully scared off the intruders.
The intruders wore masks, hooded sweatshirts, gloves and spoke Spanish. They fled in a black SUV, possibly a BMW or Mercedes, according to deputies.
Deputies suspect a connection between these suspects and a string of burglaries in Atherton and Redwood City, given the striking similarities in timing and vehicle.
County Sheriff Department urges residents to install home security systems, illuminate outdoor areas, secure valuables in a safe, report suspicious activity and preserve evidence.
Anyone with information related to the robberies is asked to call the sheriff at (650) 363-4911. — Bay City News
