A man’s cellphone was stolen after he was threatened with a gun and was doused with cold coffee during a road rage incident at Stanford Shopping Center on Thursday (July 18), police said.
Two drivers yelled at each other while driving northbound of Arboretum Road around 9:15 a.m.
As they were driving, one man, in his 20s, threw a cup of cold coffee at the other man, who is in his 50s.
After that, both men pulled into the shopping center’s parking lot.
The man in his 50s approached the coffee-thrower, who was still sitting in his car. The coffee-thrower yelled at the other man, and threatened him with a gun, said police.
The man in his 50s backed away, and while he was doing so, the coffee-thrower got out of his car and stole the other man’s phone, which had been sitting in his car. Neither man was injured during the exchange.
The coffee-thrower was last seen driving eastbound on Sand Hill Road. He is described as a Latino in his 20s who is tall and heavy set. He was wearing a red polo shirt with a Polo logo and gray pants. He was driving a newer black Toyota Camry.
