What’s happened to Cal Ave is a tragedy. The City Council is completely responsible for it. The shoved every bad idea that came to mind down the throats of businesses. Some retired. Others moved. But now it’s one vacant storefront after another. Oh, but be thankful we have a bike lane!
That was the goal all along – to destroy Cal Ave – to turn it into a 15-minute city or open air prison with no cars, bikes only, destruction of small business, and construction of large apartment complexes. The plan was a roaring success in their minds. Politicians don’t work for or care about you – they take orders from the puppet masters pulling their strings.
Hey, that’s Socialism in action.
I can’t see the glass in the sidewalk
Thank heaven we spent a fortune on that stupid Streetscape Survey to decide which of the idiotic themes should be used for Cal Ave which we joked were Asinine Arty, Moronic Moderne, etc.
Congratulations to Mayor Veenker and other “leaders” who made it a priority to update PA “values” and after their long and tireless effords this time added “efficiency” to them.
They must be very very proud it only took the city 5? years to select and install those new planters to replace the ugly orange barriers.
I’m sad at all the businesses we’ve lost, but we finally have our 5,478th bike path! You can never have enough bike paths!
