Man arrested for shooting at two people in a car

A Redwood City man has been arrested in shooting, and police have recovered the gun he allegedly used.

Police responded to a call on March 6 around 11:30 p.m. from two people who reported their car had been struck three times by gunfire, according to Lt. Nick Perna.

The passengers said they were near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and El Camino Real when a man, later identified as Alan Viveros Lara, 21, pulled out a gun and fired it at them, according to Perna. The people in the car said they didn’t know why Lara fired at them, police said.
No one was hit by gunfire.

Police investigated and arrested Lara and seized his Glock 27 .40 caliber after searching his home.

Lara was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and possessing an unregistered gun, he will be in court today and is in jail on no bail status, according to jail records.
