A man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman at Massage Envy in Palo Alto, police said today (Feb. 13).
Arturo Gomez, 42, of San Jose, allegedly touched a woman in her 20s inappropriately during a massage on Nov. 10.
Massage Envy immediately fired Gomez from 4335 El Camino Real when they learned of the incident, police said.
Gomez had worked at other massage parlors in the South Bay and could have more victims, police said.
District Attorney Jeff Rosen’s office charged Gomez with two felonies: sexual penetration and sexual battery.
Gomez was arrested at a family member’s house in San Jose on Feb. 8, police said.
This isn’t the first time a massage therapist has been arrested for sexual assault in Palo Alto.
Gang Wang, 46, of San Jose, was arrested in December 2019 for rubbing a woman’s private area after she told him to stop at Body Kneads Day Spa located at 810 San Antonio Road.
Wang signed a plea deal with Deputy District Attorney Brian King on May 22 last year to spend two years on house arrest.
Roy Alberto Melgar, 27, of San Mateo, put his fingers inside of a woman without her consent during a massage on Oct. 7, 2020, at the Spine and Therapy Center at 2504 Ash St.
Melgar was put on house arrest for 360 days.
Cesar Castro Moreno, 58, of Gilroy, was arrested on May 4 last year for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old woman at LaBelle Day Spa in Town and Country Village.
As a woman I would never trust a man to give me a message. It’s not worth the risk.
