Boy shot on Christmas; suspect at large

A 6-year-old Mountain View boy was hit by a gunshot fired into his home on Christmas, police said.

Police say they’re looking for the shooter.

However, police haven’t said why they waited nearly 48 hours to notify the public that they were looking for a shooter on the loose.

At about 8:30 p.m. Monday, police dispatchers got a call that a child was shot on the 900 block of Clark Ave.

Officers arrived and found a boy suffering from a gunshot would. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police said in their statement that an adult man was also “injured,” but the statement didn’t say whether he was the victim of a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooter ran away, and they’ve been looking for him ever since. Police said the motive for the shooting is unclear.
