A 29-year-old Mountain View man was shot and killed yesterday (Aug. 20) at an apartment complex, and the alleged shooter has been arrested, police said.
Police received multiple calls about gunshots just after 9 a.m. yesterday in the area near Old Middlefield Way and Rengstorff Ave. Police found the 29-year-old laying in the driveway of an apartment complex on the 2000 block of Reinert Road. He was declared dead at the scene. The man’s name has not yet been released.
Police located a second man, Juan Rodriguez, 23, of Mountain View, at the complex and questioned him. He was ultimately arrested on suspicion of murder, police said. A gun was recovered at the scene of the crime.
No information about a possible motive was released yesterday with police citing the ongoing investigation.
Rodriguez was in jail on Monday with no bail allowed. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
