Joanne Scott Pearson, 73, passed away on March 29, 2023 in Palo Alto, CA after a battle with cancer. Born in Norwalk, CT April 15, 1949 to Philip C. and Caroline S. Pearson, she was a graduate of Norwalk High School. She attended Westbrook College in Portland, ME graduating with an Associate Degree of Science with a specialty In Dental Hygiene.
After living in Boston for several years, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where from 1970-2001 she was employed as a dental hygienist at the offices of Dr. Homer Stephens, Dr. Christopher Joy and Dr. Richard Jensen, all in Palo Alto. Joanne loved traveling, especially to her beloved Maine annually for fried clams and lobster.
She enjoyed volunteering with the Filoli Historical House & Gardens in Woodside, CA and Peninsula Children’s Center Charter Auxiliary (PCCCA) raising funds for children with special educational needs. A cat lover, she helped at the local animal rescue center. Her passion was cooking but she also had a keen interest in art and studied Interior Design.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis J. Bennett of Palo Alto and her brother, John F. Pearson of Norwalk, CT, several nieces and nephews, and a close group of college friends whom she loved. A celebration of her life will be held May 18, 2023.
