A Redwood City man arrested on suspicion of stealing from Home Depot stores across the Bay Area had merchandise displayed on shelves in his garage as if it were a hardware store, a prosecutor said yesterday.

Eric Crossman, 24, sold the stolen items out of his home, with customers stopping by to pick up their purchases, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. …
