Carjacking foiled, would-be victim holds suspect for cops

A driver in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood this morning stopped a carjacker from taking his car, and held him until deputies could arrive and arrest him, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Hurlingame Ave.

Deputies said they found the would-be carjacker was carrying a switch blade and several items of mail that didn’t belong to him.

Arrested was Manuel Zepeda Rosales, 24, a transient. He was booked into jail for attempted carjacking, auto theft, federal mail theft and possession of a switchblade.
