Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, announced today that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will not select Moffett Field as a temporary influx shelter for migrant children at this time.

HHS announced last week that it was conducting an assessment of the NASA Ames Research Facility at Moffett Field for potential use as a temporary care facility for unaccompanied children.

“HHS informed me today that they are no longer moving forward with consideration of Moffett Field as a shelter for unaccompanied children at this time. As chairwoman of the Health Subcommittee that oversees HHS, I will continue to do everything I can to ensure unaccompanied children arriving at our borders and in the care of HHS are treated humanely and with dignity.” said Rep. Eshoo.

  1. Why is the liberal Bay Area hesitant to house the easily-anticipated flood of illegals? Biden and his open border policy easily won here, so this is no surprise.

  2. Instead of Moffett Field, how about the FEMA camp area at Travis Field off of I-80? They already have a large area with barracks, fences and watch towers. The set-up costs would be minimal, and they could fly the children directly to Travis without any ground transportation. The base is big enough to house several thousand people, and the kids couldn’t escape because of the fencing that includes barbed wire.

  3. according to the New York Times, “Children Are Sleeping on Mats in Overcrowded Border Facilities.”. The people of this area who overwhelmingly voted for Biden and his open borders policy should be clamoring for these children to be placed in a humane facility like Moffett Field.

    • Actually the Biden Administration is transporting immigrants from the Southern border to the northern border and putting them up in expensive hotels at taxpayers expense
