Eugene (Gene) L Capra, age 90, passed away peacefully in his home on December 20, 2020. He was born to Michael and Provena Capra in San Francisco, CA on April 21, 1930. Gene attended Garfield Elementary and Sequoia High School in Redwood City.

Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife Gloria and children Kathleen Capra, Gene “Danny” Capra, and Michael Capra.
In the early 1950’s Gene served in the U.S. Army as a weapons specialist. He was stationed at Camp Roberts and worked as a weapons instructor. He was deployed to the front lines of Korea and after returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria, on June 5, 1954. After completing his service, Gene pursued his education and decided to open a dental laboratory which he ran for over 40 years.
Gene was the life of the party and known for his sense of humor and detailed storytelling. Gene and Gloria spent their retirement traveling around the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their RV, site seeing, golfing and visited 47 states. They spent many weeks and weekends RV camping with their friends and tailgating for 49ers Games at Candlestick Park. Gene enjoyed his evening cocktail, loved to BBQ, and was an avid sports enthusiast. In his early days, he enjoyed hunting and dirt bike riding and loved to hit the dance floor at a party or music festival. Nothing made Gene happier than a party with his friends and spending time with his family, especially Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Gene’s name at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation or the Vista Center for Blind and Visually Impaired.
