A Palo Alto animal control officer used a blow-dryer yesterday (March 28) to warm up a nestling screech owl who was found cold and wet in a backyard in Palo Alto. At one point, the officers thought the owl had died. But after he was blown dry, the owl was placed in a warm incubator and sent to the wildlife center, where officers said he was resting comfortably. Photo courtesy Palo Alto Animal Control.
