November 4, 1970 – February 10, 2019
Linda Willey Meyer, 48, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Sunday, February 10, 2019 after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Linda was born in Monterey, CA to Allan Willey and Kitty Merz. She was raised in Palo Alto, California, graduating from Gunn High School before earning her BA degree from San Diego State University. After college, Linda lived in Toronto and Palo Alto before settling in Chicago for ten years. During her time in Chicago, she worked in the investment industry, earned an MBA from Loyola University and met and married her husband Joel Meyer. Linda and Joel moved to California in 2004. There, they have raised three children, Kira (14), Liam (11) and Jack (9) and lived in Los Altos since 2008. At the time of her passing, Linda was a Managing Director at Silicon Valley Bank in Menlo Park.
Linda was fun-loving, kind, loyal, funny, compassionate, hard-working and a good listener. She was always the first to offer help, a mentor to many of her co-workers, the best cheerleader for her children and their friends. She was a loving wife, a devoted daughter, an amazing mom, a fun-loving cousin and a loyal friend. With her luminous personality, she made friends easily, from as far back as middle school, through her close involvement with her children’s schools and sports activities, and through her work. One friend said it best: “Linda lit up the room with her presence.”
A memorial service will be held in May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bereavement and Family Guidance Program at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital or to Almond Elementary PTA or Egan Junior High PTA in Los Altos, CA.
