After missing for nearly two weeks, Serra High School student Jonathan Bedolla was found yesterday (Nov. 8) by East Palo Alto police in a friend’s apartment in Daly City — but it’s not known why he disappeared voluntarily.

Bedolla, 17, of East Palo Alto, was returned home to his mom and dad yesterday afternoon, said Cmdr. Jerry Alcaraz.

Police learned of Bedolla’s whereabouts through a post on social media, and made arrangements to pick him up, Alcaraz said.

Bedolla was in good health, said Alcaraz. Police said it’s not known why Bedolla left home or if he was at his friend’s Daly City apartment since disappearing on Oct. 26.

Bedolla’s parents reported him missing after he did not return home from work at Stanford Shopping Center on Oct. 26 and did not return any of his mom’s numerous texts and phone calls.

Bedolla attends Serra High School in San Mateo and volunteers at the St. Francis of Assisi’s Youth Club.

“We are extremely grateful and happy that Jonny has returned to his family,” said Serra President Lars Lund in a statement. “We thank our local community for all of the prayers and support during this challenging time, and also thank those who were involved in bringing Jonny home safely.”
