27 Miles Malibu is now open in Palo Alto’s Town & Country Village, offering luxurious cashmere and effortlessly stylish apparel for men and women.
Owners and designers Ernie and Emily Vallorano just opened the Palo Alto store last month. It’s their third location after opening boutiques in San Marino and Montecito last year.
And now, having put roots down here, the pair are holding a special made-to-measure event next week to introduce customers to Vallorani, their company’s Italian fashion and tailoring division for women and men. Vallorani offers premium Italian craftsmanship with California ease, offering both ready-to-wear and personalized made-to-measure services.
For their event next week, customers can book and attend a private fitting with visiting master tailors Ernesto, Nicola and Gaetano from Sicily. Pore over luxury fabrics from Loro Piana, Zegna and other Italian mills and create your own unique suit, jacket or coat, with each part made to your specifications, from the fabric and linings to buttons and lapel shapes.
These appointments are offered from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 14-17. Book and attend your fitting for a complimentary pocket square; purchase any Vallorani jacket, coat or suit and receive a complimentary shirt tailored just for you.
“You can make a truly unique one-of-a-kind item that’s truly yours,” said Ernie.
The couple’s roots in fashion run deep, with long experience in sourcing and production and more than a decade supplying designs for private labels. But one day, they were taking a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and saw a sign that would change their careers: “Welcome to Malibu, 27 miles of scenic beauty.”
Instantly transported and inspired, they started creating a fashion line that would encapsulate that blend of natural beauty, creative energy and effortless style they admired in Malibu. They don’t use any synthetic fabrics; all pieces are made of cashmere, silk, cotton and linen. It’s a family operation, with Emily designing all the women’s pieces and Ernie designing the menswear.
Emily said her designs reflect the relaxed spirit of the West – stylish without fuss or bother. Or, as the Italians call it, sprezzatura. At 27 Miles, the two influences pair beautifully.
“Every piece has something special about it,” Emily said.
