A young man was hit and killed by a Caltrain at the Glenwood Avenue in Menlo Park, according to the coroner’s office.

Eamonn Christopher Burgraff, 21, died on Saturday, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office said.

Menlo Park police issued an alert at 4:28 p.m., telling residents to avoid the crossing due to “traffic congestion.” At 6:36 p.m., they issued another alert announcing that the road had reopened.

Caltrain’s alert system on X, previously known as Twitter, posted that the 635 train at Menlo Park heading north was canceled at 4:21 p.m. due to a “service disruption.”

New policy Caltrain started a new policy in May of no longer telling the public about people getting hit in an effort to stop copycat suicides.

Last year was one of the deadliest on the railroad tracks since 2015.
