John Northcott

A resident of the South Bay Area for most of his life, John Northcott passed away in his home at the age of 66. The child of Robert and Joan Northcott, John was born in Detroit and raised in Palo Alto, where he was active in the local children’s theatre community before attending the University of California Los Angeles and majoring in theatre arts. He was a Regional Manager at Round Table Pizza and was instrumental in opening several restaurants in Western states. He spent most of his working years with Round Table and other pizza joints, which led to many funny stories about celebrity customers, deliveries gone awry, and his skills as a professional driver. John was a self-taught musician and enjoyed playing guitar. Bay Area sports, movies, and cats were just some of the things that he loved. He was hilarious, goofy, smart, loving, and generous. John is survived by his older brother Marc Northcott, niece and nephew Emma and Luke Northcott and their mother Anita Warner, his good friend Lori Abendroth, and Lori’s children Krista, Kat, and Kiah.

All are invited to a memorial service in celebration of John’s life to be held on Monday, February 17 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Grace Lutheran Church, 3149 Waverly St., Palo Alto. Per John’s wishes, please wear casual attire and/or T-shirts representing Bay Area sports teams: “Giants, Niners, and Stanford preferred, but all okay.”
