August 6, 1934 – July 15, 2024
Phyllis M. Heinrichs went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2024. The daughter of Reverend Lester and Mary Glea Smith, she was born on August 6, 1934, in Missouri, and had been a Menlo Park resident since 1976. Phyllis was the devoted wife of 68 years of Dr. William Leroy Heinrichs, Professor Emeritus Stanford Medical School. He predeceased her in 2022.
Phyllis was dedicated to her family above all and was the caring, loving mother of son Stephen (Lourdes) and daughter Lynn. She also considered herself truly blessed to be grandmother of Raymond (Erin), Hayley, and Casey, and great-grandmother of Josie. Her sister Margaret, and brothers Ralph (Jane) and Larry (Rhea), also survive.
Phyllis was a woman of faith who enjoyed her extended family, friends, church and community, her grandchildren’s sporting events and accomplishments, traveling, the symphony and music, art and museums, gourmet cooking and entertaining, walking, reading, football, fashion and modeling. She was a warm, nurturing woman whose presence will be missed by many.
